Revitalising Heritage – A Bespoke Sash Windows Project on Canonbie Road, London SE23

Canonbie Road in London SE23 is lined with a mix of Victorian and Edwardian-era homes, the road exudes a distinct character with its red-brick facades.

Canonbie Road is known locally as the steepest hill in the area. Fun fact: Canonbie Road featured in a Mr Bean episode, where he was using a broomstick to drive his car whilst sitting on his roof rack!!

Bespoke Windows have fitted several houses on this road and the job pictured came from a neighbours recommendation, as is often the case.

We undertook a transformative project here, where the challenge was to seamlessly integrate high-tech features into the traditional charm of sash windows. The entire house was fitted, over seven consecutive days, with new PVCu framed windows and doors, but with internal liners and architraves in traditionally shaped “green core” MDF profiles. Working systematically from top to bottom, each item was finished the same day it was started, making life easy for everyone.

The result is a complimentary fusion of classic design with cutting-edge functionality, providing homeowners with not only visually stunning windows but also energy-efficient and technologically advanced features.
