High-Tech Traditional – A Bespoke Windows project at Choumert Road, London SE15
Choumert Road is a charming residential street with a mixture of Georgian, Edwardian and Victorian houses – along with more modern dwellings, Choumert Road offers a delightful blend of historical allure and contemporary vitality.
Bespoke Windows were contacted by the homeowners who said they “didn’t know anything about windows other than they needed some”! The problem was due to the rattley, draughty and very rotten original windows not serving their purpose anymore.
Being new clients, we took our “mobile library” van of physical samples and options to the clients house and they chose the specification level that they considered was right for them and their home.
Our slimline dual profile 17mm 3D glazing bars were included and positioned to duplicate the original layout.
These four PVCu Bespoke heritage sash windows were fitted to the front elevation, incorporating traditional MDF painted mouldings internally. This enabled the house to continue looking traditional, inside and out, be rattle free and draught free, but without the chance of any wood rotting in the future.
The job was fitted in one day with no redecoration necessary.
The project here emphasizes the meticulous attention to detail that defines the company's approach. The restoration process not only respects the historical significance of the sash windows but also integrates modern technology to enhance performance, ensure durability and energy efficiency.
