Modern Heritage – A Bespoke Windows Project on Underhill Road, London SE22
We love it when a client confirms they would like us to fit windows that are completely in keeping with the look of the front of their period home: these were the first words uttered when our surveyor arrived at this house. Of course, he also wanted double glazing and draught proofing but the look was of paramount importance for this lovely building.
Often we would suggest wooden windows where curved headed frames are to be replaced. This customer, however, wanted to avoid any future exterior painting of the windows due to the difficulty in scaffolding the building.
For these two reasons, our conservation range of curved headed PVC sash windows were suggested, with their lack of black, grey of silver lines, instantly quoted for, then ordered a week later by the client.
It would have been cheaper to fit square windows but thankfully this client wanted to pay more for a better job. This way the frames mirror the lovely shape of the brickwork.
If you see these windows on Underhill Road you are most likely to believe they are wood! Job done well!
