Victorian Garden Door – A Bespoke Windows Project on St Asaph's Road, London SE4

This very unusual bay incorporates a full height door and top light with sash windows to the “returns”.

Because sash windows are effectively one window sliding in front of another, it means the frame is more than twice as wide as the door frame: a technical challenge for our surveyor and fitters, for which extra time was scheduled to get the job right. “We work to a standard, not a deadline” as we are fond of saying. 

The result is an outcome that honours the original design of this Victorian garden door whilst becoming warmer, safer, fully weatherproof and more secure.
